# dsh-grok-4-6-support

A DeepSeek Harness profile bundle that adds `grok-4.6` to the existing `xAI` provider. The Models settings page shows exactly these xAI models after installation:

- `grok-4.3`
- `grok-4.5`
- `grok-4.6`

The bundle extends pi-ai's in-process xAI catalog before `@deepseek-ai/dsh-llm-pi-ai` starts. This preserves the built-in route's per-model protocol selection: Grok 4.3 keeps OpenAI Chat Completions, while Grok 4.5 and Grok 4.6 use OpenAI Responses.

## Requirements

- DeepSeek Harness `0.1.0-rc.6` or a compatible release that provides `@earendil-works/pi-ai` `^0.82.1`.
- Node.js `22.19.0` or later.
- An xAI API key, supplied through the Models settings page or `XAI_API_KEY`.

## Install

From this package directory, install the bundle into the Web profile:

```

Restart the existing `dsh web` process, then refresh the GUI. This is a host-side model-catalog change, so client-plugin HMR does not apply.

## Behavior

The plugin does not store credentials. The existing xAI setup card continues to own API-key entry and storage.

If `settings.yaml` already has `llm-pi-ai.providers.xai.models`, that user-level list overrides the bundle list. Remove that list or add `grok-4.6` to it to retain the model after the next settings update.

If a newer pi-ai release already includes `grok-4.6`, the plugin leaves its native model definition unchanged and only applies the three-model xAI selection list.

## Remove

```

Restart `dsh web` after removal.
